Photoscape: - RAW Converter - Batch Editing - Resizing – Editing – Digital Photos: It will automatically batch edit all of your photos without having to click on each one, for example changing all photos to 600 pixels on the longest dimension at 96 dpi. This is close to the size I use to upload onto the Internet.

When I am doing more precise work I "batch" edit in PhotoShop via the Action palette. Though PhotoShop® Version 6 requires clicking on each image and then entering a keyboard short cut, it is a good version to buy to learn with. It should be cheaper on places like eBay than the newer CS versions. Of course the newer versions have better tools such as Content Aware. Version 6 has a similar Exclude. Photoshop CS6 is an amazing total upgrade.

With Photoscape one simply drags the entire group of photos to a box above the image window. Then you simply select the actions, filters such as sharpening, and the dpi (dots per inch) you want to use on all of the photos. Then the program automatically and very rapidly changes each photo. I have used Photscape and find it very easy to use. Of course it requires learning how to use it.

GIMP is a PhotoShop® look-a-like program that can use PhotoShop® plug-ins. With another plug-in it can include support for most RAW formats. It is compatible with Linux as well as Windows and Mac operating systems. According to its reviews this program is very much like PhotoShop®. I have yet to use it.
